Ecadorian amazon and Columbia

The amazon was amazing!!! I was going to wait to post a blog with photo's but I can't wait for Mark to finish editing them, so I guess that will be a separate post

The amazon was sooo much better than we thought it would be. We managed to see anaconda, pink dolphins, toucans, five types of monkeys, poisons frogs, stinky turkeys, kingfishers, giant hairy spiders and a zillion bugs. We stayed in wooden huts and had a giant bird watching platform to while away the hours. And did I mention the hammocks.

We also met some great people.

On the downside, there were a whole lot of sand flies and I now look like I have small pox or something.

We're now in Columbia and I think I'm a little in love! It seems to be reasonably priced and everyone is exceptionally friendly. They really want tourists to start to visit again and really go out of their way to make you feel safe. Also the taxi drivers seem amazingly honest. One slight shock is that you have to bargain for you bus tickets which is something completely new.
